Brief

A KID called BEAST is a street culture brand built around 10,000 unique characters, each with their own look, their own style, and their own personality. One of their community members came to us wanting social media content that would bring those avatars to life in a way that went beyond the artwork itself.

The concept was simple - stop the scroll, but make it feel real.

Scope

1

Bringing the AKCB characters to life through cinematic, story-driven renders.

2

Giving each character a sense of personality, history and lived experience.

3

Creating social media content with genuine stopping power.

4

Building a visual world that felt consistent with the AKCB brand identity.

Approach

The brief was a fun one. Rather than just putting the characters in front of a camera, we wanted to ask a simple question: What do these characters actually get up to?

So we put them in situations everyone recognises. Chilled on the sofa at night with a bucket of popcorn. Sitting alone at the pub, nursing a drink, staring into space. Wandering through the woods like they've got somewhere to be. Hanging out of a moving car during a police chase, you know - the casual stuff you get up to on a Saturday night. Suddenly these weren't just characters on a screen, they were people. They had moods. They had evenings. They had stories we hadn't written yet, and that was the whole point.

Each render was built to feel cinematic rather than promotional, using lighting, environment and composition to give every scene its own atmosphere. The bar scene feels quiet and warm and a little melancholy. The car scene feels like it's about to kick off. That contrast across the set was something we were really pleased with.

Results & Outcome

The renders gave the AKCB community a suite of social content that did something most brand content doesn't - it made people curious about the characters as individuals. When your audience starts wondering what a cartoon character is thinking about in a pub, you've done something right. Throughout our time making AKCB renders, we accumulated thousands of retweets, likes and comments with our Halloween post receiving 34 likes, 12 retweets, 7 comments and 1,461 views (and counting).

We are proud members of the A KID called BEAST community, and we look forward to making more renders in the not too distant future!
