Brief
Matrix One came to us at the very beginning of their product launch. Their platform, built on Solana and powered by their own decentralised protocol, had a bold ambition: to help people create and interact with personalised 3D AI companions at a time when WHO had declared loneliness a global public health crisis. With a pivot toward AI companions at the heart of their strategy, they needed visual marketing content that could tell that story from day one. The brief was as good as they come: make people feel something about a product that didn't exist in the physical world.

Scope
1 | Creating high quality avatar renders for use across marketing and social content. |
|---|---|
2 | Telling the story behind the product and the people building it. |
3 | Supporting the brand's pivot toward AI companions from launch. |
4 | Producing behind the scenes content that brought the development process to life. |

Approach
We knew from the start that this one would push us. Building compelling visual content around a fully digital, AI-driven product with no physical touchpoints is a genuinely different creative challenge, and we loved it. Another complication that was interesting to figure out, was that the product itself did not exist when we were initially hired, so a lot of our initial concepts were created from designs, descriptions and mutual creative understandings.
Working in Blender and Photoshop, we developed a suite of avatar renders that gave the characters real presence and personality. Getting the avatars to feel warm and human rather than cold and artificial was something we spent a lot of time on. For a product built around combating loneliness, that distinction mattered more than most.
Alongside the renders, we produced behind the scenes content that documented the story of how Avatar.one was made, giving audiences a window into the creative and technical process behind the platform. We worked closely with the team throughout their pivot toward AI companions, helping shape how that new direction looked and felt to the outside world right from the start.
This project put us out of our comfort zone in the best possible way. We really enjoyed this one.

Results & Outcome
From launch, Avatar.one grew to surpass 120,000 monthly active users worldwide, with many spending over three hours a day chatting with their AI companions. It's a product solving a real problem, and being part of that journey from the very beginning is something we're genuinely proud of. A brilliant team, and a project that reminded us just how much creative ground there is still to explore in this space.
