Brief

Initially finding out about our work via a video we made for our friends over at MeebitsDao, Portals contacted us to create a new promotional video, advertising their upcoming crate drop. Portals asked us to include their T-NEC avatar (a character project created by the Portals team), and make it a key feature of the video.

As with most of our clients, Portals chose to hand creative control over to us, allowing our team to dream up some pretty awesome ideas - and so, the futuristic, space-airdrop scene was born!

Scope

1

Balance cinematic storytelling with clear commercial outcomes.

2

Generating immediate impact from short form content.

3

Create a modern, exciting and impressive piece of content that resonates within the Portals community.

4

Deliver hype content for conversion-focused platforms, with a predominant focus on X.

5

Ensure the inclusion of the projects avatar project.

Approach

From start to finish this project took the team around two weeks to deliver with minimal changes requested by the client on delivery.

Whilst the story is simple, the visuals are anything but, with the key focus of the video being on the spaceship itself! This was one of the first times our team had featured VFX of this type, and so we made sure to spend a lot of time getting the boosters and sand effects looking perfect. Fun fact, this is actually a re-coloured explosion effect!

We think the inclusion of SFX really made this video pop, with the sound of metal scraping against the metal grating being a particular team favourite. Fun fact number 2, originally the T-NEC had an adorable voice over that would scream prior to being squashed, however this was eventually cut from the scene over fears of being a little too mean.

Results & Outcome

Quickly becoming a fan favourite amongst the Portals community, the Portals Loot Drop video is still spoken about nearly 2 years later! Commissioned to create a variety of other videos for the brand, the Portals team were very impressed with the outcome of this video, mass selling a multitude of crates, the project was extremely successful.

It's one thing announcing that you intend on selling a new product, but it's another thing backing it up with high-quality advertising material, something that is regularly missing from Crypto projects. Giving your products the marketing they deserve in-turn promotes buyer and community confidence, with is of upmost importance in the crypto industry.
